Home Visits

Home Visits

*At present home visits are on hold due to the pandemic*

As a setting we aim to embrace the ethos of 'home visits' for all children.

The visits will be arranged at a time when parents/carers and staff are available. Children starting at nursery will be offered a home visit after their initial trial with their parent at nursery. They will be sent home a picture of their key person as a link between home and nursery, if this is needed and in turn we invite families to bring in photographs to share at nursery

Visits will be arranged in preference to families who have any significant changes in circumstances i.e. new sibling, moving house, family changes, starting another setting, illness or surgery.

Visits do not have to be held at the family home though this is a good location as staff can see children in their home environment; or where the parent/carer feels most comfortable, for example a location such as family friends home, grandparents, park or library.

Visits will always be held by at least 2 members of staff; one of which we aim to be your child key person and for no longer than half an hour.

Staff will bring a nursery iPad to take photographs of them with the child in their home environment that they will add to the child's online learning journal, tapestry.

We aim for the home visits to be a positive experience for all concerned and welcome feedback from all parents/carers to enable us to improve our practice.
